Dr. Wendell Williams 

Wendell Williams, MD is a third-generation physician from Saint Louis, Missouri. He graduated from an HBCU, Howard University, in 1978. Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1982 and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine in 1985 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Williams’ cardiology fellowship was completed in 1987 at Saint Luke’s West in Saint Louis and he is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Dr. Williams was semi-retired in August 2020 after serving underserved communities in Saint Louis, Missouri and Muskogee, Oklahoma for over 30 years.  He and his wife moved to the Austin area in October 2020 and joined the ABPA shortly thereafter. Dr. Williams currently serves as the  Chairperson of the ABPA scholarship committee.  His desire is to assist Black students in their quest to become the next generation of Black physicians.
